Periodical: An information source published in multiple parts at regular intervals (daily, weekly, monthly, biannually). Journals, magazines, and newspapers are all periodicals.

This and other definitions of library terms come from the Association of College and Research Libraries' Multilingual Glossary for Today's Library Users

At the UW Library, periodicals can be accessed either by browsing those located in the Library’s print collection (located on the Library's 5th floor in the periodicals room or current periodicals sections) or online, through the Library’s databases, accessible on the Library’s website, from the homepage.  To determine if the Library subscribes to a specific periodical, a title search can be done on the Library’s website, using the Journal Search on the homepage.
