Equitrac is the name of the printing and photocopy management system used at the University of Winnipeg. Through this system, students are provided with a personal printing account (often referred to as an Equitrac account) that allows students to protect and pay for their printing. Students may access their Equitrac accounts with the username and passcode provided in the email sent at the beginning of their first term to their student Webmail Login. If students have not received the email, or have deleted it, the username and passcode can be obtained from Student Central on the 1st floor of Rice Building (489 Portage Ave.).
Once the Equitrac username and passcode have been obtained, students will need to load money onto their printing accounts. This can be done at one of the Equitrac Paystations located in the Library or the UpLink Computer lab. Cash is required to load money onto the account as the machines will not accept debit/credit cards. The Equitrac machines can also be used to check the cash balance remaining on a student’s account. The cost of each print job will be deducted from the account once the documents have been released from the printer. If an account has insufficient funds to print a job, the job will remain in the printing queue until enough funds are present to cover the cost and the job is re-released with the student’s Equitrac account.
You can find a summary of printing charges on the Printing, Photocopying, and Scanning page on the library website.
The Equitrac machines are used only to load/check cash balances for printing. To queue and release a print job, students must use one of the computers located in the Library or UpLink lab. Unfortunately, printing cannot be sent from student’s personal devices at this time. Students will have the option to send their print job to black & white or color printers. These are clearly labelled in the Library and UpLink lab. A print job can only be released from the type of printer selected when the job was sent.
Yes. Some of the campus printers are also equipped as photocopier and scanners. You can find more information on the Printing, Photocopying, and Scanning on the library's website.
