When a book becomes damaged, whether due to an accident, deliberate abuse, or simple wear and tear, it requires mending. These materials are segregated from the other books while library staff attempt to repair the damage. During this time, the book’s status will appear as “MENDING” in the library catalogue. If you feel that a book you have borrowed requires mending, please bring it to the attention of the library staff when you return it.

Additionally, if you require a book that has its status listed as “MENDING,” please fill out a Rush Mend Request form at the Circulation Desk. In most cases, an item will be repaired by the next business day (unless it is missing pages).
